Natural Stress Relief That Works With Your Body

A deadline that won't budge, a social situation that sets your heart racing, a mind that won't switch off at 11pm. Conventional options often come with side effects, dependency risks, or a dulling effect that makes it hard to function. Natural anxiety supplements like Calm work with your body's own sensory pathways to encourage a calmer, more grounded state of mind.

Terpenes are the aromatic molecules that give plants their distinctive scents. Beyond their fragrance, decades of scientific research suggest they interact with the human body in ways that may support mood, reduce feelings of tension, and promote a more settled nervous system.

Calm combines a carefully selected profile of these compounds into one convenient bottle.

What's Inside and Why It Matters

Farnesol

Naturally found in chamomile, rose, and lemongrass, farnesol is studied for its calming aromatic qualities and its potential to support emotional balance. It's one of the key reasons people reach for natural anxiety relief supplements that feature floral botanicals.

Beta-Caryophyllene

Present in black pepper, cloves, and copaiba, beta-caryophyllene is one of the most researched terpenes for its potential role in supporting stress response pathways. It's a standout ingredient in natural supplements for anxiety because of its interaction with the body's endocannabinoid system.

L-Borneol

Found in rosemary and camphor, borneol has a long history of traditional use for calming the mind. Studies have explored its potential sedative and anxiolytic properties, making it a valuable inclusion in a natural anxiety supplement formulated for daily use.

Geraniol

Extracted from rose and palmarosa, geraniol contributes a gentle floral note and may have stress-modulating effects. Research has explored its role in supporting emotional well-being.

Delta-3-Carene & Terpinolene

These fresher, more clarifying terpenes help balance the formula, supporting mental focus and clarity alongside the calming notes, making it ideal for managing stress without mental fog.

Together, this terpene blend forms a sophisticated, synergistic natural stress relief supplement that goes well beyond single-ingredient options like ashwagandha or magnesium alone.

Why Reach For Calming Terpenes Instead of Ashwagandha or Magnesium

Ashwagandha and magnesium are excellent, well-studied options, but they work on single pathways and can take weeks to build up in your system. Calming terpenes work differently: the aromatic compounds interact with your sensory system quickly, making them a natural complement to longer-acting supplements rather than a replacement.

And for those dealing with physical tension alongside anxiety, ournatural joint pain relief formula may also help.

How to Use Calm

Apply 3–5 drops to pulse points (wrists, temples, or the back of the neck) and inhale gently. Many customers incorporate Calm into meditation, journaling, breathing exercises, or evening wind-down rituals.

In Australia, Vasse Valley's Terpene Tonics are classified as topical cosmetic products and are for external use only.

FAQs

Are there any known allergens in your products?

All of our products are free from dairy, eggs, gluten.

For those with nut allergies, the hemp hearts, protein and oil are processed in a facility that ONLY processes hemp. These products should be safe for you to eat. Our Roasted Range (Dukkah, Salad Sprinkle) either contain or may contain traces of sesame, almonds and other nuts.

For those with allergies to fragrances, in particular Linalool and Limonene, it is best to either avoid using the Terpene Tonics or use with caution.

Hemp, like many natural products, has the potential to be an allergen for some individuals, although it's relatively uncommon compared to more prevalent allergens like peanuts, dairy, or shellfish.

For individuals trying hemp products for the first time or those who suspect they may have a food allergy, it's wise to start with small amounts and monitor for any adverse reactions. If you suspect you have an allergy to hemp or experience unexpected symptoms after consuming hemp products, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional for proper testing and guidance.

Why are dosage instructions different for Australia compared to the US?

In Australia, terpenes are not recognised as foods and cannot be taken orally as a general food product. Therefore, they have been classified as non-medical cosmetic products and must be administered topically.

In the US, terpenes are recognised as being part of the everyday diet through traditional foods. They can therefore be classified as dietary supplements under FDA regulations and can be administered orally.

What is the difference between hemp seed oil and hemp oil?

The terms "hemp seed oil" and "hemp oil" are sometimes used interchangeably, but they can refer to different products based on the part of the hemp plant used and the extraction process.

Hemp seed oil is specifically extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant. It provides nutritional benefits due to its fatty acid profile and can be a good source of essential nutrients.

Hemp oil may refer to oil extracted from the entire hemp plant, including the leaves, flowers, and stalks. This type of oil may contain cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol (CBD), which are compounds found in the hemp plant. The potential benefits of hemp oil with CBD are currently being studied, and some people use it for purposes such as stress relief, pain management, and sleep support.

Currently, in Australia, it is not legal to sell unregistered CBD products over the counter. If you are interested in CBD and how it may help you, try our Terpene Tonics first as a cheaper and easily accessible option.

Will I test positive for THC in a drug test?

Eating hemp seeds has little effect on a person’s THC levels ― and never enough to exceed the levels looked for in federal drug testing programs. So rest assured, hemp seed is safe to eat and you can eat it daily and have no risk of failing a drug test.

The Terpenes used in our Terpene Tonics have all been extracted from common herbs and spices and do not contain THC.

Are terpenes or hemp safe for kids, breastfeeding or pregnancy?

Terpenes are in most fruit and vegetables and are generally recognised as safe. While some terpenes may have potential health benefits, the safety of using terpene products, especially in concentrated forms, on children is not well-studied. Therefore, we do not recommend using the terpenes for children under 12.

Likewise for pregnancy and breastfeeding. Due to lack of data it is safest not to use these products.

Hemp seed is safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women, and for kids from the moment they start eating solids. Hemp seeds are a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are crucial for brain development in infants.

Are there any known interactions with pharmaceuticals?

As a general precaution, it's always advisable to inform your healthcare provider about any dietary supplements or oils you are considering, especially if you are on prescription medications. Your GP can provide personalized advice based on your health history and specific medication regimen.

Hemp seed oil is a natural blood thinner, so those on blood thinning medication should consult their general practitioner.
